We had a delicious meal and thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this exceptional restaurant. We believe our server was also the owner of the restaurant, and he couldn't have been nicer. After guiding us in our wine selection, he pulled out a map to show us the specific wine regions of France and to educate us on the location, climate, soil, and character of the wine we were about to enjoy (which we did very much). The manner that he engaged us in conversation really added to our enjoyment of the evening. His sincere passion for creating great food could not be missed. If we are fortunate enough to return to Paris, we will also return to this excellent restaurant.
The food was superb, the presentation made the food … almost too beautiful to eat, and the service was first rate. I would commend La Gorgée to anyone looking for a feast for the senses at an affordable price point.
The food (salmon tartar and plat du jour: confit de canard) was medium, the presentation mediocre, the duck was served cold, and no added offer was made to rectify this mistake. The kiddies menu was good and ample.
